Reach Padron (B)
Today you will hike for 18 km (5-6 hours) to reach Padron, the second most important point in the pilgrim's journey after Santiago. It is here where, according to legend, St. James's bodily remains were brought by boat in the year 44 AC by two of his disciples. From this sacred place his body was brought to Santiago de Compostela. On your way to Padron you will get to see some of the famous old water mills, churches, and beautiful scenery. In Northern Spain eating is almost a ritual ceremony, and Padron is no exception to this. Try the Pimientos de Padron, a little green pepper served fried and salted, simple and delicious.
Today is your last day of hiking, after the last 25 km (6-7 hours) you will reach your destination - Santiago de Compostela.
