Day 1: Sydney to Crescent Head

Set the tone for this authentic Aussie adventure by crossing Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge as we venture toward the surfing haven of Crescent Head. After a tasty BBQ lunch, we'll be hitting the water with a private surf lesson on one of the best beaches in the world. Whether you're just starting out or have surfed before, here's your chance to become a bona fide surf master.

Day 2: Crescent Head to Byron Bay

Our road trip continues as we roll past the Big Banana icon before pulling into Byron Bay - where you can burn incense, sip chai and practice yoga all in one day.

Day 3: Byron Bay

Anti-McDonald's and anti-anything mass produced (but pro juice bars, beer gardens and beards), Byron is all about the small town vibes. On your free day here, hit the shops, test out those newly acquired surfing skills, paddle a sea kayak, skydive, or watch whales breach from the Lighthouse in winter. Pretty sweet, huh?

Day 4: Byron Bay to Brisbane

Buh-bye Byron, we're headed to the famous Surfers Paradise beach, and then on to Brisbane today. Discover for yourself why this place is one of Australia's most popular holiday spots.

Day 5: Brisbane to Fraser Island

Today we'll discover Noosa and the breathtaking Glasshouse Mountains, then board the ferry bound for Fraser Island. UNESCO World Heritage listed and the world's largest sand island, this place is pretty special. Fraser, we're ready for ya!

We ask that you have packed a small overnight bag to take to Fraser Island with you as luggage space is limited. Pack items like swimmers, beach towel, chargers, hat, sunscreen, camera, jacket, toiletries, sandals/flip flops and casual clothes for 2 days.

Day 6: Fraser Island

Fraser is literally one huge pile of sand - as if someone dropped the Sahara Desert into the Pacific Ocean and scattered it with dingoes and forests. Embark on an included four-wheel drive along the beach highway and explore Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, the Maheno Shipwreck and so much more.

Day 7: Fraser Island to Myella Farm

Along the way today, we'll stop off at the iconic Bundaberg rum distillery for a tour and tasting sesh in the heart of sugar cane country. This afternoon enjoy an authentic outback experience at a 2,500-acre cattle station. Embrace your inner jackaroo and prepare yourself for an adventure-packed afternoon of optional horse riding, motor biking and cow milking. Or go walkabout on a real Aussie farm to find that right spot for the perfect outback sunset. Enjoy a hearty home cooked farm style dinner before you take to whip cracking and lassoing.

Day 8: Myella Farm

Embrace your inner cowboy and prepare for some whip cracking and lassoing - today there's a full day on the farm to sink your teeth into. Opt in for the chance to explore on horseback. This evening, enjoy a moment with nature as you watch the sun set over the wide open plains.

Day 9: Myella Farm to Airlie Beach

Please note: We ask that you have packed a small overnight bag to take onboard with you as space on the overnight sailing is limited. Pack items like swimmers, beach towel, chargers, hat, sunscreen, camera, jacket, toiletries, sandals/flip flops and casual clothes for two days.

Feeling like you need more air in your hair? Leave the bus and board your own private yacht for our overnight (2 day, one night) sailing trip in the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Normally a toy for the rich and famous, today it's all yours to learn the ropes while sailing in paradise. Cue feasts, swim stops and plenty of snorkelling.

Day 10: Airlie Beach

Today, we'll set sail for sandy beaches, snorkel over coral reefs and soak up the sun. Keep those sunglasses on as the blinding white sands of Whitehaven stretch before you like a 7km sea of diamonds, and swim with the resident reef fish at a nearby snorkel location. Back on board, practise your seafaring skills by helping to set the sails or steer at the helm. Make the most of this paradise before we head back to shore tonight.

Day 11: Airlie Beach to Magnetic Island

Today we're off to Magnetic Island, just a short ferry ride over from the mainland. Relax, recharge and take it easy in a hammock of your choice. Or, get involved in walks to secluded beaches and maybe even feed some of the local animals.

Day 12: Magnetic Island to Cairns

Back on the Bruce Highway and colourful Cairns in the far north tropic region is our next destination. We'll pass palm tree-lined streets this afternoon as we make our way into Cairns, nestled between the Coral Sea and the Great Dividing Range. After checking into our centrally located hotel, head out to grab some dinner - you're spoilt for dining choices here. After dinner the revelry is up to you - check out the famous Night Markets or soak up the local nightlife at one of the many bars and clubs.

Day 13: Cairns

You have two days to crack Cairns! Why not start with an optional Great Barrier Reef trip? It's like a kid's gone crazy with their paint set down there. Keep your eyes peeled for some awesome animals; we're talking turtles, reef sharks, rays and more.

Day 14: Cairns

There's heaps to get involved with on your second day here in Cairns. We're talking whitewater rafting, bungy jumping and skydiving. Take your pick!

Day 15: Cairns to Alice Springs

Catch ya later, Cairns. We're off to Alice Springs. Take to the skies heading south west to meet up with your Northern Territory outback crew.

Day 16: Alice Springs to Uluru

We're hitting the red ground running as we take to the road and head into Yulara (the gateway resort to Uluru). We're off to the breathtaking Uluru in the afternoon for a guided walking tour before a glass of bubbles as we watch the glow of the sunset morph through 50 shades of red. This will be a sunset for the books. Tonight, hone your Aussie BBQ skills and cook your own steak (or veggie burger). Welcome to Australia, mate.

Day 17: Uluru

Start your day with a big bowl of 'oh my god' thanks to a breathtaking sunrise back at Uluru. Follow in the footsteps of the traditional owners of this sacred World Heritage site with a full base walk, where you can escape the crowds and check out hidden waterholes. Keep watch for wedge-tailed eagles, spinifex hopping mice and thorny devils. Or splurge on a scenic flight and soar over the rock.

Day 18: Uluru to Kings Canyon

After a hearty breakfast, we spend a few hours back in the National Park. This time get ready for some soul searching as we venture into the heart of sacred Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas) and walk amongst the 36 red sandstone giants through the Valley of the Winds. After a drive into Watarrka National Park, live the life of a jolly swagman as we sleep under the stars in custom swags. Cue campfire stories and marshmallows tonight.

Please be aware that in winter months (May-Sept), nighttime temperatures can drop to near 0 degrees so warmer clothing will be required for the night sleeping in the swag.

Please note that the twin / double / or single upgrade is not applicable to the Overnight Swag Night at Kings Canyon.

Day 19: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Get your hiking boots on! This morning we start with the hardest part of the famous Rim Walk in Kings Canyon, aptly named 'Heart Attack Hill'. But believe us, it's worth the effort. The Kings Canyon Rim Walk is the real deal and the most famous canyon in Australia. Think age-old cycads, eroded dome shapes, a visit to The Lost City - and that's not even the best part. The sheltered valley and waterhole of the Garden of Eden make today even more awesome. After a picnic lunch, we'll board the coach back to Alice Springs.

Day 20: Alice Springs

Wake up. Rub eyes. Be wowed with a trip to the West MacDonnell Ranges. They're pretty special if we do say so ourselves. We're back to Alice Springs afterwards to explore the town centre.

Day 21: Alice Springs to Darwin

Today we'll take to the skies, bound for Darwin. The capital of the Northern Territory and gateway to Kakadu. But before get there, you've got a free day for some downtime tomorrow.

Day 22: Darwin

A free day in Darwin. What to do? Well there's Mindil Beach for chilling out on, a fair few food markets to feast at, plenty of shops for a spot of souvenir shopping and tonight, you could always head down to the lively waterfront.

Day 23: Darwin to Kakadu National Park

Kakadu, here we come. Inside the 20,000 square kilometre park, we'll head to the village of Jabiru and check out the Bowali Visitors Centre. For the next two nights you'll be calling the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park home. Expect phenomenal wildlife, like-worthy scenery and of course local Indigenous culture.


Wet season itineraries Nov - May: will vary slightly and will be adjusted to suit the conditions of the day and all included available sights and walks that are open and can be accessed, will be.

Day 24: Kakadu National Park

Aboriginal rock art sites are high on the list for today, as our Kakadu National Park exploring continues. This morning we venture to Nourlangie Rock to spot some of the most famous Australian Indigenous art works. Then we'll swap artwork for alligators on a East Alligator River cruise in Arnhemland (dry season only). Naturally. Stepping into Arnhemland and getting a look into the Aboriginal lifestyles is a real privilege (we've been given special permission to enter this part of Arnhemland). Try your hand at spear throwing while you're there. Then we'll see some ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr before climbing to the top of a rocky lookout for beautiful views over the Nardab floodplain. Enjoy the sunset before heading back to our lodge.

**Wet season itineraries Nov - May: will vary on this day with access to some areas cut by high water levels. Your crew will ensure that you see and participate in as many areas / activities that are open and available within Kakadu, and include an optional sightseeing boat cruise on Yellow Water Billabong.

Day 25: Kakadu National Park to Katherine

Check out the southern parts of Kakadu this morning. We'll grab some picnic bits and head to one of the NT's best al fresco lunch spots. Explore the magical Edith Falls and have a dip in one of the world's most idyllic natural pools. Get those cameras ready, it's gonna be pretty awesome. Cooled off and refreshed we are on the road again and headed for Katherine. As the day draws to a close, round it off with an evening game of lawn bowls and a BBQ with some locals at the nearby Country Club.

Day 26: Katherine to Litchfield National Park

Katherine Gorge is well known for its natural beauty. With its dramatic cliffs plunging down to the pandanus-lined Katherine River, the gorge is all yours to explore. We get back on the famous Stuart Highway heading for Batchelor, the gateway to the stunning Litchfield National Park.

Day 27: Litchfield National Park to Darwin

National Park, pools and a picnic are the order of the day. In Litchfield NP you'll see waterfalls, pockets of rainforest and beautiful pools. Check out giant termite mounds, Wangi Falls and slip into the natural pool of Florence Falls. Then venture over to the Buley Rock Holes for another soaking. After lunch outdoors, we'll take on the short drive and last leg of our trip back into the heart of Darwin. Our grand trip might be over, but your Aussie adventure doesn't have to end.
