Begin your journey with a Tel Aviv airport pick-up on Day 1. Tour Jaffa on Day 2 and transfer to Nazareth on Day 3. Go on a day tour to the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights and enjoy a traditional cooking workshop on Day 4. Go on a Nazareth walking tour on Day 5 before being transferred to Jerusalem. On Day 6, visit the nearby natural wonders of the Dead Sea, Ein Gedi National Park and Masada Fortress, followed by hummus cooking workshop. Enjoy a guided tour of the fascinating Old City city of Jerusalem and welcome the Shabbat on Day 7 before your trip ends on Day 8 with an airport drop-off.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Ben-Gurion Airport Pick-up & Transfer to Tel Aviv
Today you will be picked up upon arrival to Ben-Gurion airport and transferred to Tel Aviv. Get settled into your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Tel Aviv.
Day 2: Old Jaffa Half-Day Walking Tour (B)
Today after breakfast, make your way to the meeting point to begin a tour of Jaffa, one of the oldest inhabited places in the world, destroyed and rebuilt dozens of times in its four millennia-long life. This city was ruled by some of the most powerful empires in history leaving a deep mark. During this 2 hour tour, short on walking but packed full of legends and drama, you will visit the Clock Tower, the New Seray, Adolf Eichmann’s prison, the Jaffa Riots, the British Mandate, Andromeda’s Rock, the Mosque of the Sea, the Port of Jaffa, the House of Simon the Tanner, Jaffa Lighthouse, Jonah and the Whale, Napoleon in Jaffa, the Arab-Hebrew Theatre, Ajami district & the Intifada, the Zodiac Alleyways, the Lion Temple, the Wishing Bridge, St Peter’s Church, Old Seraya, and much more.
After the tour, enjoy the day at leisure to explore more of the city on your own and overnight in Tel Aviv.
Day 3: Transfer Tel Aviv to Nazareth (B)
Today you will take a transfer from Tel Aviv to the city of Nazareth. Enjoy a free day today to walk around on your own and discover this historic yet modern city. Overnight in Nazareth.
Day 4: Sea of Galilee & Golan Heights Tour & Traditional Cooking Workshop (B/D)
Get ready for a fun day exploring the beautiful and historically rich regions of the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights. You will depart Nazareth this morning and travel to the Sea of Galilee for our first stop. Actually named Lake Kinneret, this large fresh-water lake is located at 200 meters below sea level. We will visit the town of Capernaum to awe at the important historic and religious significance of this town for many millions of Christians. Visit the former home of Peter and peek into an ancient synagogue where Jesus imparted his teachings. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, a beautiful Roman Catholic Franciscan Chapel and the location for his famous Sermon on the Mount preachings, overlooking the Sea of Galilee and the Valley below.
Then we will continue our drive through the Galilee region to visit the Banias Nature Reserve also known as Caesarea Philippi, famous for its captivating history and beautiful nature. Take a moment to look around and admire beautiful streams at Mount Hermon on a short hike. Nearby this site is where Peter told Jesus we was Christ, the Messiah. Afterward we will make a stop at the Odem winery, where you can taste locally produced boutique wines,
Fuel up after an active morning with a delicious lunch en route to the Mount Bental summit near the border. Look out into the distance at the sprawling landscapes of neighboring Syria, with Damascus located a short 60 kilometers away. Bental is a dormant volcano that houses bunkers and trenches from the 1973 Yom Kippur war. Awe at spectacular views of Mount Hermon, Syria, Golan and Galilee from this privileged viewpoint. Before returning to the city, we will make a stop at a beach on the Sea of Galilee where you can cool off in the refreshing waters.
After returning to your accommodation, freshen up and get ready to participate to a cooking workshop where you will learn to cook delicious local food. You will learn how to prepare Maqluba, a traditional Arab dish that consists of rice, vegetables and local spices, as you enjoy a relaxed evening of cooking, chatting, and learning about the local cuisine. After the cooking, enjoy your delicious home-cooked meal and overnight.
Day 5: Nazareth Old City Tour & Transfer to Jerusalem (B)
This morning, Go back in time on a unique day tour through Nazareth’s ancient old town to experience an off-the-beaten-path route through the thousand-year-old streets and alleyways of this fascinating city with a local guide. Take your camera and some extra spending cash to capture special moments at the fresh and vibrant marketplace as well as taking a moment to awe at the iconic basilicas, synagogues and churches dotting this city. This tour is tips-based only so if you enjoy the experience we encourage you to tip your guide as a gesture of appreciation.
After the tour you will be transferred to Jerusalem, where you can get settled into your accommodation and enjoy exploring the city on your own before overnight.
Day 6: Masada, Ein Gedi & Dead Sea Day Trip & Hummus Workshop (B)
Depart Jerusalem today around 7:00 am and travel south towards the Dead Sea and the Masada Fortress located in the vast and beautiful Judean Desert. Hike to the top of the fortress or buy a ticket for the cable car where you can awe at the miraculous views over the Dead Sea and surrounding mountains. The fascinating ruins at Masada are the site of a great story of Jewish heroism and the site is one of the most important archaeological ruins in the country. Walk among the ancient archaeological ruins and imagine what life here was like thousands of years ago.
Continue your trip to the nearby Ein Gedi Nature Reserve for a spectacular walk to refreshing spring-fed waterfalls and swimming holes. Take a moment to relax and cool off in the falls. Hop back in the bus and continue your trip to the Dead Sea where you will have the chance to float in the salty waters, creating the illusion that you are floating on top of the water. Give yourself a mud-bath exfoliation with therapeutic mud and take photos of this incredible experience. After your time here, you will head back to Jerusalem arriving in the early evening. Freshen up on arrival and join other travellers at 19:30 for another relaxed evening of cooking, chatting, and learning about local cuisine and how to prepare the famous Middle Eastern dish, hummus. Try something new, healthy and authentic as you get introduced to this addictive treat. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 7: Jerusalem Holy City Tour & Shabbat Experience (B)
We will begin our Old City tour today at the Jaffa Gate of Jerusalem’s old city, where we will go back in time by walking along the stone streets of this rich historical city. Learn about the 5,000-year-old history of Jerusalem and experience the different quarters that are home to Christians, Jews and Muslims all living inside a fascinating 1 sq km walled city. See the most important holy sites for all three religions: the Western Wall and King David’s Tomb for the Jews, the Dome of the Rock where Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven and the exquisite Al Aqsa Mosque for the Muslims, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the room of the last supper and the Via Dolorosa where Jesus walked bearing his cross before he was crucified. Listen to biblical stories and learn about the rich history of Jerusalem as you walk the streets of this amazing city and stand on the very spots where they took place. Come with an open mind to truly experience this incredible city and its inhabitants. Return back to your accommodation to rest up after a long day of walking.
Day 8: Jerusalem Accommodation Check-Out (B)
Today your trip will come to an end with great memories of an unforgettable experience in the fascinating country of Israel as you check-out of your accommodation. We wish you safe travels onwards!
