Visit Nagarkot, a beautiful hilltop village where you can admire beautiful sunrise and sunset views over Himalaya’s giant peaks. Return to Kathmandu before travelling overland to Chitwan National Park for a safari to see rhinos, tigers, monkeys and crocodiles! Let yourself be entertained at night with a colorful cultural performance and campfire. Discover the birthplace of Lord Buddha in the holy town of Lumbini. Take a spiritual walk through the Sacred Gardens and visit the impressive Maya Devi Temple. Before returning to Kathmandu, in Pokhara you can relax on Fewa Lake to admire the incredible Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges in the distance or choose to hike to the World Peace Stupa or Sarangkot viewpoint for a breathtaking sunrise.
Day by day itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu - Kathmandu City Tour - Nagarkot
Upon arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandun, enjoy breakfast before starting to get a glimpse of Nepal on a half day sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley, making sure to visit the most important sites in Patan, Nepal’s second largest city with ancient monuments and landmarks, Pashupatinath Temple, Bodhanath Stupa. Experience the life of this city and let your guide introduce you to the unique culture of Nepal before continuing in private transportation onto Nagarkot, where you will beimpressed with its verdant agricultural terraces and stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas. Overnight in Nagarkot to see the region’s unforgettable views of the Himalayas at sunset.
Day 2: Nagarkot - Kathmandu (B)
After breakfast, take a private transfer to return to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a magnificent palace in the Kathmandu Valley with stunning gates, temples and pagodas. Also visit Swoyambhunath, a stupa on the top of a hill from where you can overlook the scenery Kathmandu Valley. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Chitwan (B/L/D)
After enjoying breakfast, travel overland from Kathmandu to Royal Chitwan National Park enjoying the scenery and hectic roads along the way. Watch a cultural performance while sitting around a bonfire before heading off to bed to rest up for a big day ahead.
Day 4: Chitwan National Park (B/L/D)
Have a fulfilling breakfast and get ready for a day full of safari activities in the Royal Chitwan National Park. Go on a jeep safari, take a canoe trip and go for a jungle walk to search for the park’s elusive and amazing Rhinos, Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards, monkeys, crocodiles and more. Bring your camera so you don’t miss out on any opportunities to photograph these beautiful creatures. Sleep overnight just outside the park.
Day 5: Chitwan National Park to Lumbini (B)
After 2 nights in Chitwan we travel overland to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Lumbini. Known as the birthplace of Lord Buddha, Lumbini is an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Walk through the Sacred Lumbini Gardens where the Buddha was born, visit the Ashoka pillar and Maya Devi Temple with its bas-relief sculpture depicting Maya Devi giving birth to the infant Buddha. Your time here will surely be an enlightening experience.
Day 6: Lumbini to Pokhara (B)
After breakfast, we depart Lumbini by road to travel to Pokhara, a lovely lakeside village at the foot of the Himalayan mountains. After getting checked in at your hotel, enjoy an optional boat ride on Fewa Lake or take a walk to explore this quaint town on your own.
Day 7: Pokhara Surroundings Tour (B)
Take a day to visit the beautiful sites around Pokhara such as Devis Waterfall, Siddheshwar Cave, Mahendra Cave, Vindhyavasini Temple and the Mountain Museum. If you are feeling up to some exercise, take a hike up to the World Peace Stupa or to Sarangkot Viewpoint for a striking sunrise or sunset view of the Himalayas.
Day 8: Pokhara to Kathmandu (B)
Travel overland back to Kathmandu, where your trip will come to an end leaving you with a fulfilling sense of adventure from your exciting trip through the intriguing country of Nepal.
