Welcome to Kerala - to God's own country! Upon arrival at the airport, train or bus station, you will meet your local representative and be transferred your accommodation. After check-in you have the rest of the day to explore the colonial charm of Cochin on your own. To stroll along the water when the fishermen return from the sea, when families play in the last rays of sun and the Chinese fishing nets are so beautifully pulled up during sunset.

Start by going to the Jengar boat jetty, where you cross to the Vembanad estuary to reach the farming Island. The locals will enter the vessel, too, carrying along their motorbikes, cars as they return from mainland Cochin.
Once you reach the other side, your local guide from the village will welcome you. A good 30 minutes' walk will take you to the beautiful, lush farm where you are free to explore the area and its cultivations. Depending on the time of the year, you will get to know the details of paddy farming or fish, crab and prawns farming. Indeed a beautiful sight with the lush fields surrounded by water, and the ever-present coconut palms to give a pleasant treat to your eyes. This area is also full of both inhabited and migratory birds.
In the afternoon you will be served authentic Kerala local style food which include local rice, veggies and curries, fish, karimeen (pearl spot), crab/prawns, which you may have caught yourself while learning the local fishing techniques. Once full, move on to a boat cruise through the islands and end your day at the Jengar jetty from where you will return to your hotel.

Have an early breakfast, so you are ready for a bicycle ride through the streets of old Cochin as the city slowly comes to life in the morning. Start at 07:30 AM and as you peddle through the streets you will pass St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, the Dutch Cemetery, beach and beach-side shops, Chinese fishing nets, the busiest Bazaar road which connects Fort Cochin and Mattancherry, the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Jewish Cemetery and everything in between.
After this three hours tour, you will come back to your hotel and spend the rest of the day taking in the last bits of Cochin.

The drive is around 4 hours, and you will have the rest of your day to explore Munnar.

A part of the Eravikulam National Park, Rajamala is a 15 kilometres (9 miles) drive from Munnar. Anamudi, the highest peak in South India at a height of 2695 meters (8983 feet) lies in the Eravikulam National Park. Interestingly, half the world population of the rare Nilgiri Tahr is concentrated in this region. You will have a full day exploring this serene corner of Kerala and along the way; you will visit a tea museum and a hill station. Return to town for a bit of spices shopping.
