Itinerary

3 Days Jakarta - Yogyakarta by Train

Day 1: Arrival Jakarta

Upon arrival in Soekarno Hatta International Airport you will meet your driver, then you will transfer to your hotel in Jakarta.

Day 2: Jakarta City Tour with Public Trasportation

Today you will be picked up at the hotel at 09:00 by your local guide.

Together with a local guide you will visit the highlights of Jakarta. You will use various kinds of local transportation. Your guide will take you by Transjakarta bus way, by Jakarta train, and if needed, a motorized tricycle to the Bajaj to get to the starting point. This depends on the location of the hotel. In the heart of the city your first stop will be at the Istiqlal Mosque. Build to commemorate Indonesian Independence, it is also Southeast Asia's third largest mosque. You can marvel at the architecture and there is an option to visit inside at additional cost for a donation (not included). At the mosque appropriate clothing will be provided.

After this you will walk to the Cathedral. It was build in 1901 in the Neo-Gothic style. The Transjakarta bus commenced operations on 15 January 2004. This was considered the first revolutionary public transport mode in the capital city. From the Cathedral you will go with the Transjakarta bus to the old city named Kota. This was where Batavia started as a city in Dutch colonial era. And this is the area where you find sight seeing of Colonial buildings around the Fatahillah Square. You will visit the historical museum shortly and then pass by foot the Intan Bridge and former warehouses towards the Maritine Museum. The Maritime Museum and the Watch Tower are interesting to spend some time at. From here you walk on to the Sunda Kelapa Harbor. The old port of Jakarta that accommodate the traditional 2 masted Phinisi, wooden sailing boats of Indonesia can be found here.

With a short drive by Bajaj you will get back to the fatahillah square and will get back by commuter line. This is Jakarta’s train that goes between station Kota and the station nearest to your hotel.

Day 3: Jakarta - Yogyakarta by Train

Today you will continue your journey to Yogyakarta by Train. Driver will pick you up at the hotel, then drive to Jakarta Train Station to catch your train to Yogyakarta. You will depart from Gambir Train Station in Jakarta with "Taksaka Pagi Train" to go to Yogyakarta Train Station. Time of travel by this train will be approximately 8 hours, before arriving in Yogyakarta. End of services.
