Kings Canyon & West MacDonnell Ranges - 4WD Swag Adventure (from Yulara / ends Alice Springs)

Day 1

**Day 1: Yulara / Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon** Join us as we dive headfirst into the rugged wilderness of Kings Canyon (Watarrka National Park)! As we leave Uluru National Park, our adventure takes us to the stunning landscapes of Watarrka. You’ll bask in the warm glow of the afternoon sun as we journey through breathtaking scenery to our hidden gem of a campsite. As the sun sets, we’ll gather around the campfire, sharing stories and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings. When night falls, prepare for a starry spectacle that will leave you in awe of the vast, peaceful skies above. **Day 1 Highlights:** - Immerse yourself in the stunning beauty of Kings Canyon, where landscapes will leave you speechless (seriously, bring a spare jaw!). - Enjoy the serenity of our exclusive remote campsite, where the only thing competing for your attention is the mesmerizing wilderness. - Far from city lights, experience a celestial display that’ll put your favorite light show to shame. **Meals:** Dinner (*lunch not included for guests arriving at Yulara Airport). **Camping:** Private Kings Canyon Campsite - Permanent Tents or Bush Swags (communal bathroom facilities). **Driving Distance:** 406 km (4.5 Hours). **Hike Distance:** 2-6 km / 2-4 hours (*weather dependent)

Day 2

**Day 2: Kings Canyon to West MacDonnell Ranges** Get ready to discover Kings Canyon (Watarrka) like never before! Early risers will be rewarded with breathtaking beauty as we explore the sacred grounds of the Ulpanyali and Lilla people. Surrounded by towering 100-meter cliffs and sandstone chasms, you’ll be captivated by jaw-dropping backdrops that will have you reaching for your camera. Lace up those sturdy shoes, grab your water, and let’s hit the trails! After our hike, our journey will take us through the rugged Australian outback (conditions permitting), along the scenic Mereenie Loop or Ernest Giles Road. This offers stunning views of the vast, untamed landscape, immersing you further in the beauty of the outback. Get ready for an evening of stargazing at our cozy private safari camp nestled in the mountains with Mount Sonder overlooking us. **Day 2 Highlights:** - Travel through the remote central Australian countryside on the Mereenie Loop Red Centre Way—where every turn reveals Instagram-worthy views. - Engage in a guided walk through Kings Canyon Watarrka National Park, learning about local flora, fauna, and geology (because education can be fun!). **Meals:** Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner **Camping:** Private West MacDonnell Ranges Campsite - Permanent Tents or Bush Swags (toilets only) **Driving Distance:** 370 km (4 hours) **Hike Distance:** 4-6 km / 3-4 hours

Day 3

**Day 3: Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges) to Alice Springs** On your final day, we begin with a delicious breakfast while spotting native wildlife waking up to greet the day. Marvel at the towering red walls of Ormiston Gorge – nature truly showing its power and beauty. Afterward, we’ll venture to the Ochre Pits, a significant cultural site where vivid mineral colours of the ochre create a striking landscape, historically used by traditional landowner ceremonies and painting. Next, cool off with a refreshing dip (or bush shower) in the crystal-clear waters of Ellery Creek Bighole (Udepata), surrounded by towering cliffs and sandy shores that evoke the perfect tropical postcard scene. We then explore the captivating Standley Chasm, also known as Angkerle Atwatye (meaning “Gap of Water”), nestled in the heart of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and rich cultural history that defines this iconic location. As we leisurely make our way back to Alice Springs, we’ll stop at the enchanting Simpsons Gap, where ancient stories and winding trails intertwine. Conclude your unforgettable journey, reminiscing about days filled with exploration, adventure, and friendships that will last long after you’ve left the outback. **Day 3 Highlights:** - Tjoritja West MacDonnell - Ormiston Gorge & Ochre Pit - Ellery Creek Bighole - Standley Chasm - Simpsons Gap—your camera roll will thank you! **Meals:** Breakfast, Lunch. **Driving Distance:** 250 km (3 hours). **Walking Distance:** ~3-4 km _*Autopia Tours reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary schedule during seasonal weather fluctuations and/or during park closures due to traditional landowner ceremonies._
