The Ecuadorian national authorities have increased frequencies of international flights to 50% as of first of August 2020.
Also, commercial flights to the Galapagos Islands have been reopened with Avianca and Latam airlines.
On the night of Friday, August 14th, national organizations announced changes in the protocols and requirements for entering the country.
- International tourists who arrive in Ecuador by air and have a negative RT-PCR test taken in the last ten days prior to the trip, will no longer have to comply with the mandatory preventive isolation upon arrival in the country.
- In Galapagos, presenting the test with a negative result taken maximum 96 hours prior to arrival to the islands, is a requirement for admission - cost at the travellers' own expense.
- Your temperature will be taken, if it exceeds 37.9°C, you will not be able to enter.
- Safe-conduct issued by the Ministry of Tourism in which it indicates that passengers who enter the islands go on an organized tour. This will be managed by your operator.
We recommend, as well, that you wear a face mask to protect each other. (Use of face masks might be obligatory in some areas or tours.)
Upon arrival to the hotels or tours, you will have your temperature taken by the staff and your belongings might also be sanitized before entering the hotel.
You will have to keep your distance from other travellers or staff from the hotels or tours.
