You are welcomed at the airport and transported to the 5 star Saltycrax Backpackers in Blouberg. The hostel is within walking distance from all bars, restaurants, the beach, shops and transport terminals. Blouberg is famous for kitesurfing, water sports and its amazing views of Table Mountain. For the rest of your day you can go down to the famous Kite Beach to capture some great views of Table Mountain, sip a cocktail, get lunch or take a stroll on the beach. At night a traditional South African meal is cooked on the fire. This is a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world. You will spend the night at Saltycrax.

Start the day with breakfast at SaltyCrax Backpackers.Your friendly SaltyCrax staff member will teach you about the bus system before you head out to Cape Town city centre. Once you get to the city centre, you have two options to choose from:

Walking Tour
Do a walking tour visiting historical sites like the Castle of Good Hope and the Grand Parade. Learn about life under apartheid in South Africa at the Parliament Buildings and the District Six Museum. Shop for African arts and crafts in Greenmarket Square and St George’s Mall.

Hop On Hop Off Bus Bass
Board this topless bus that takes you to all the sites you need to see, such as Camps Bay, the V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain… all from the comfort of your seat!

After one of the above activities you can take a bus or walk to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Sit back and sip a cocktail, enjoy some fresh fish and watch the ships in the busy working harbour or walk around taking in the shops, markets and musicians on the sidewalks. Alternatively you can take the cable car up Table Mountain and enjoy breathtaking views of the city, or visit the famous Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held in prison during the apartheid era (at own expense).

In the evening head back on the local bus to Table View where you can join the staff, other guests and the locals at one of the restaurants or bars along the beachfront in Table View - all within rolling distance from the hostel where you will be staying the night.

Having your photo taken at the famed Cape of Good Hope sign, marking the southwestern-most tip of Africa, is a must.

Next up, you can get your fix of cuteness as you walk alongside African penguins at Boulders beach and learn about these endangered creatures and the efforts being made to conserve them.

Start the morning with a pick up from a local guide for an elegant but relaxed tour through the Cape Winelands.

The Western Cape of South Africa is home to more than 500 wineries and today we will visit between 3 - 5 of our favorites. The Winelands offer more than just wine though and there is also beautiful scenery and interesting history to enjoy along the way.

The wine route tour is mellow and involves no exercise - other than lifting your wine glass. You'll visit any of the three regions of the Cape Winelands, either Stellenbosch, Franschhoek or Paarl. The day will be spent eating mouthwatering foods and treats and drinking some of the best bubbles and wines that South Africa has to offer. The wine farms offer a variety of white and red cultivars, as well as their own blends and styles. We allow enough time for each tasting to fully appreciate and enjoy the wine master’s art. The Cape Winelands is a haven of gracious, white-gabled farmsteads evoking a rich, elegant heritage.

You will be dropped off at your accommodation in the late afternoon/evening to enjoy the night at leisure. Wine-not continue sipping wine with other fellow travellers around the bonfire?

You can spend the day relaxing on the beach or go on an adventure like skydiving or sandboarding (own expense). For other options on what you can do ask your friendly Saltycrax Staff member. After your free day you will arrive back at the backpackers where you can share your stories from the past few days over a drink with the other guests. If you want to, venture off to explore Table View's nightlife.
