Program Highlights

This is a holiday as much as a bootcamp. It's the perfect blend of relaxation, fitness training, excursions and activities.
It works! You will be amazed at your fitness improving efficiently with group training sessions every day.
It's really motivating - especially when training with people who all want the same thing!
There is nothing stopping you from reaching your fitness goals with lots of fitness training sessions and activities.
We use proven advanced fitness training techniques coupled with various different classes, so no matter what your fitness goals, we can help you smash them. All of our fitness programs are taught by professional fitness trainers.
Discover how great you will feel training and exploring beautiful Sri Lanka including nature treks to hidden beaches, stand up paddle adventures, Ocean Kayaking, beach volleyball sessions and a great social scene.
You will meet like-minded people and make lifelong friends. If you are traveling alone, you won’t be on your own for long, as it’s a very welcoming environment and we will hook you up on Facebook prior to arrival.

Itinerary

Below is an example of what you can experience during a week of Fitness Bootcamp. The majority of the workouts and classes take place at our gym located right on the beach. This is a fully functioning CrossFit box with one of the only level III CrossFit trainers in Asia.

CrossFit
CrossFit is a worldwide phenomenon that combines weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio modalities into fast-paced and intense circuits known as a WOD that is guaranteed to leave you feeling like you’ve pushed yourself to the limit. A focus on whole-body movements, group dynamics and proper form allow you to push yourself harder than any workout we’ve found to date! With options for scaling, CrossFit is accessible to everyone of all fitness levels.

Deep Strech & Mobility
An early morning class to get you ready for the day or an evening recovery. Improve your range of motion, your posture and your performance by taking advantage of our dedicated stretch and mobility classes. A combination of self-myofascial release, partner stretches and active mobility exercises will have you moving better than ever before.

Primal Fitness
Move the way humans were made to! Run barefoot, swim, crawl, climb, throw and pick up odd objects. Develop your power, strength, speed and endurance. Embrace your surroundings and do a pure cardio workout with Surf & Turf consisting of ocean swimming and barefoot running. Play games and work in teams with our survival classes. It’s all about getting back to our natural movement, learning to play again and having fun whilst getting a sweat on.

Barbell Club & Kettlebells
Improve your coordination, power and mobility to a new level. Spend a whole hour refining and honing your technique under the watchful eye of our experienced and qualified coaches.
For those intimidated by the barbell, a good starting point is the kettlebell. A simple yet effective modal combining strength, cardio, endurance and stamina with whole-body dynamic movements.

Callisthenics
Mix up your strength training. Callisthenics is a great way to develop stronger muscles, healthier bones and better stamina. Moving your body weight through space can develop core strength and body awareness that transfers outside of the gym in an amazing way. Learn the basics of handstands, gymnastic ring strength and extreme flexibility tailored to your fitness level.

Gym
You will also have access to our strength and conditioning facility, complete with our beach playground of monkey bars, pull-up bars, dip bars, cargo net, tyres and sledges. Strength training with the highest quality dumbbells, competition kettlebells, barbells, bumper plates & GHD. Power training with slam balls, wall balls, sledges and boxes. Plus your cardio needs met with rowers, assault bike, ropes and of course the ocean!

Stand Up Paddle
The lagoon at the resort provides an amazing playground for stand-up paddles. You have unlimited access to this as well as kayaks for a fun low-impact workout, or just to lie on and soak up the sun!

Beach Time or Kite Surfing
Time for some much needed R&R. Hit the beautiful beach, or learn to kite surf with a 9-hour course (local payment).

Beach Training or Volleyball
Sometimes we do beach training, which is another body HIIT style session. Alternatively we play beach volleyball, which is a fun effective way of getting the blood pumping. Let's hope you don't get too competitive!

Evening Activities
At approximately 19:00, everyone meets up for a group dinner at the resort and the evening activities are laid on from movie nights, beach bonfires, stargazing to crab racing! Our local team are constantly coming up with ways to keep you entertained.

Optional Excursions (Local Payment Required)
If you want to add more to your program, there are some fantastic local activities and excursions you can enjoy. We are located fairly close to a large nature reserve, where you can do safaris to spot leopards, elephants and a whole host of amazing wildlife.

In season this is one of the best places in the world to spot blue whales and dolphins. You can go on an ocean safari and watch blue whales breach out the water right by the boat.

There is a fairly large reef located in the vicinity of the Bootcamp where you can learn to dive, or go scuba diving or go on fishing trips.

All these optional excursions are booked and paid locally.

Please Note
No class is mandatory, and no one is going to force you to get out of bed. Classes and timetables can change at the camp so the above is to be taken as an indication of what you will achieve, but it is not set in stone.

Pre-Departure Info

We give you lots of support prior to arriving at the camp. After booking, we will set you up with an online buddy list so you can chat with other people going to the camp, or people already training at the camp before you even set off. You will also receive a detailed pre-departure pack for you to familiarise yourself with the program before you go.

Accommodation

The Ultimate Fitness resort is exclusive to clients on the pro option. Staying in beautiful twin share beach bungalows, it's a haven of peace and relaxation in between training. Located on the beach, on the shoreline of the lagoon with direct access to the sea. Due to the gentle constant onshore breeze, you will get a comfortable night's sleep in fan cooled rooms, furnished with beautiful teak beds, high thread count cotton bedding. There are differently styled rooms at the resort - the beach bungalow style is basic with shared bathroom facilities, but clean and comfortable and you have everything you need. The resort also benefits from multiple chillout areas, hammocks, book exchange, stand-up paddles and sea kayaks that you can use at your own leisure. If you wish to have more privacy, it's possible to book a bungalow for yourself at an additional single supplment (subject to availability).

Local transport

Arrival
Arriving on a Tuesday before 13:00, you will be picked up at Colombo Airport and dropped off at our gateway hotel Goldi Sands in Negombo. If your flight arrives early, feel free to use the pool. At 15:00 there is a group transfer from the hotel to the Bootcamp that is located about 3 hours north of Colombo. If you can't find flights arriving before 13:00 on a Tuesday, please plan to arrive on a Monday and book an extra night at our gateway hotel. The hotel is about 30 min from the airport in a nice location where you can chill before starting the Bootcamp.

Alternatively you can make your own way to the Bootcamp at your own expense. Expect to pay around €90 one way for a taxi.

Departure
An airport drop-off (group shuttle) departing at 09:00 Tuesday morning can be arranged locally for €50 per person.

Meals

Training hard and efficiently is only one factor that goes into delivering great results. What you put into your body is arguably even more important. One of the great things about the Sri Lanka Fitness Bootcamp is that we include incredible healthy meals to really complement your fitness training goals. Nutritionists have been involved in the creation of our delicious healthy eating menu which is included in your programme 7 days a week.

Meals are not on an 'all you can eat' buffet style so if you are looking to bulk you may need to budget for extra meals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fit do I have to be before I join?
We get people of all fitness levels joining the camp. Do not worry that you will not be able to keep up, just focus on your own fitness level and progress. We guarantee you will see an improvement

What kind of results can I expect?
Everyone is different, and everyone has different goals. Some people are unfit and others have a reasonably good level of fitness when they begin. No matter what category you fit into, you will benefit from spending time training here.

There is a very motivating and supportive atmosphere at the camp as everyone supports each other in reaching their goals. Combined with the superb trainers, numerous and varied scheduled group training classes, and a world-class training facility and gym, there really is nothing that can hold you back. Exercising is quite addictive once you get into it!

How long should I go for?
The majority of people stay between 2 and 4 weeks. Staying short-term, the main benefit you will take with you is the knowledge of how to maintain and improve your health and fitness back home along with a solid fitness routine. If you are really serious about improving your fitness and well-being, then make this a life-changing trip and go long-term and experience a complete physical and mental transformation.

Can I train if I have an existing injury?
Because each exercise can be tailored to the abilities of everyone in the class, no matter what your fitness level, you are able to join the fitness boot camp even if you have an existing sports injury. Simply make the trainers aware of your own personal physical circumstances and they can tailor the exercises accordingly.

What do I need to bring?
Training clothes, trainers and a workout towel. We also advise you bring a beach towel and several training tops. You will need to bring your own padlock for your trunk when staying in shared accommodation.

Water & Plastic Consumption
It goes without saying that you need to stay hydrated. As Ultimate Fitness clients need to drink considerably more water than average tourists, this can have an adverse effect on the local ecosystem with people consuming plastic bottled water. We are trying to do our utmost to minimalise the impact we have on the environment so we have invested in importing a water cleaning filtration and mineralisation system to provide unlimited drinking water at the resort. As this is expensive to maintain, there is a small charge of €10 per person per stay for unlimited drinking water. Part of the proceeds go back to our support of local conservation efforts.
