Bank of England Museum is housed in the buildings of Bank of England and shows the bank's history since its foundation in 1694.
The museum gives an exciting and interesting introduction to London's and England's monetary history. You will see coins, banknotes and gold bars and get an insight in the trading on the stock exchange.
In connection with the visit you can have a presentation on various aspects of the functions of the Bank of England but in this case booking is essential.
Below you will see three examples:
General introduction – a general talk on the history of the Bank of England from its foundation and till now, the role of the bank today, and the general functions of the bank.
It will be possible to ask questions during the presentation. Particularly suitable for people with an interest in the Bank of England.
Duration: 1 hour.

Made of Money - a film about the impact of overall socio-economics on common man. The film is intended for young people aged 14 to 16 years and explains what socio-economics means for them and their everyday life.
It is explained in an easy and straightforward way, with relevant examples that the students can relate to their everyday life. It will be possible to ask questions afterwards. Duration 1 hour.

Keeping on an even keel – a short movie using metaphors and animation to explain the bank’s role and responsibilities in an imaginative and entertaining way.
The film is divided into 7 minor modules and is a simple guide to the bank’s role in monetary policy and financial stability.
They explain why low inflation and a safe and stable financial system matter to UK economy and how the Bank contributes to achieving them.
The presentation is aimed at students interested in economics. The students must have a relatively high level in English as there will be a Q & A session at the end with expected active participation.
