The national tapestry works exclusively for the French state. Today, weavers continue to work in the old, traditional way but now also with modern designs, including some by Picasso.
Tapestries have been made to foreign countries only in exceptional cases – for instance to Queen Margrethe II for her 60th birthday.
The tour is only in French and might help improving the French skills of the students. It is however possible to obtain some written information in English.
The visit takes about 1½ hours and reservation is required.
