About 30 km from Hamburg lies the former concentration camp, Neuengamme; the largest concentration camp in north-west Germany during the Second World War. More than 100,000 prisoners were interned here during the years of war.
On the grounds of the former concentration camp you can see the exhibitions showing the history of the camp. It is possible to book a three-hour program which, in addition to the main exhibition and the former prisoners’ barracks, includes other parts of the grounds: clay pits, the brick factory, the commandant’s house, as well as the International Monument and the House of Remembrance.
A booking fee will be charged.
The price is for an English speaking guide
