Backpacker Best of Vientiane

Day 1: Vientiane Arrival

Today you will be picked up from your arrival point and transferred to Petit Espace Hostel. Take the rest of your day to either relax or explore your surroundings.

Transportation: Vientiane or Greater Vientiane to Petit Espace Hostel by Van
Accommodation: Petit Espace Hostel in a Mixed Dorm

Day 2: Vientiane Day Tour

Today you will be picked up from your hostel early in the morning for a day of activities. Your first stop will be Wat Sisaket, the only structure to survive the Siamese invasion of 1828. Over the road you will find Wat Ho Phra Kheo, a temple that did not survive but was rebuilt during the 1930's. Continue to Patuxai, a Lao Monument to Victory and then That Luang – the most holy structure in all of Laos. In the afternoon head to Buddha Park, a park started by Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat, where you can find statues influenced by both Buddhism and Hinduism. Afterwards, head back into Vientiane via the Lao Disabled Womens Development Center where women from all over Laos gain life skills and vocational training to empower them for an independent life.
