The Museum of Natural History is one of the twin buildings designed by Gottfried Semper and Karl Freiherr von Hasenauer. The museum is the northern building – closest to the Volkstheater.
Embark on a journey through nature. From insects to gemstones and minerals to dinosaurs. Here you get a fascinating insight into the history of the Earth. The room with dinosaurs and prehistoric birds is among the favorites of visitors. But the gemstone hall also shines, featuring a giant topaz weighing 117 kg and jewels from Maria Theresia.
