The relaxing 8 day Surf and Yoga Week Package program aims to make sure you get the absolute most from your experience in Portugal whether you have experience or have never tried yoga before. Experience revitalising Hatha flow yoga sequences at sunrise to give you all the energy and focus you need for the day. Our in-house yogi goddess’s will help develop muscular strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, and breathing. Our instructors will bring balance to your body and mind during our morning practice, so that we build our bodies to be light and strong. After an active day of exploring or chilling-out on the many beaches directly opposite property, you can lounge around with new friends on our stunning sea view rooftop terrace with some tasty drinks and delicious food from our all-day menu. It’s without a doubt, the perfect place to end your day, where you will experience the most magical sunset views over Peniche. Surfing gets you fit, tanned and you’ll make some great new buddies. Our friendly, highly experienced team will help you develop your own yoga practice, teach you how to surf a wave and create the perfect experience. Just a great week of fun, sun, sand, surf, yoga classes, good people, good times and good vibes....

Itinerary

Here at The Salty Pelican is a place to be happy... A place to feel like your own... a place to feel like home... it’s an entire experience consisting of everything we love: surf, yoga, sun, sea, salt, adventures, good people, good times and good vibes. So kick-up your feet... grab a cold sangria and really enjoy the spectacular BBQ sunset dinners here. With over 300 days of sun per year, you spend most of your time outdoors, even in winter. In 2023, a heated pool will also be available.

Get lost in paradise! It’s not a secret anymore that Peniche is truly a surfer’s & yogis paradise. Give your senses an experience. A dreamy natural landscape, picturesque villages, white windmills, chapels, sandy beaches, sunsets for days and breathtaking viewpoints along the wild Atlantic. This whitewashed old fishing town with its intertwining streets, fisherman houses, surf shops and restaurants right on the sand, will steal your heart. Spend your days practicing yoga, connecting with nature, connecting with each other and learning how to surf. We’ve located at the perfect spot, opposite our retreat you will find the waves literally at our doorstep and you'll be able to enjoy some of the best sunsets straight from our sea view rooftop terrace with good friends and good vibes. We also have an indoor yoga studio, cinema room, premium FLOWT surfboard range available and much more.

Please note that times do vary sometimes depending on weather, tides and seasons.

You can join as many of our scheduled yoga classes during your stay with us. Yoga is twice a day everyday except all day on Mondays and also on Thursday afternoons there is no yoga scheduled, instead we have the Obidos tour with ginja tastings and the Berlengas Islands meditation hike scheduled these afternoons as optional extras. You can choose to join your first yoga class either in the afternoon on your arrival day (if it does not fall on Monday or Thursday) or the following morning. * There are no refunds for any unused yoga classes.

Sunday Arrivals - If your arrival day falls on a Sunday, your first yoga class is scheduled on that afternoon between the starting time of 15:00 - 17:00 usually. If you miss this class, your first yoga class will commence on Tuesday morning, as there is no yoga scheduled all day on Monday.

Accommodation is with comfy beds in a spacious room. You can choose either Mixed Shared Deluxe Garden ensuite (10-bed), Female Only Shared 4-bed Ensuite with Balcony or Terrace, or Shared ** Sea View/Garden View Twin Room (OBS! Bunk Beds) rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathroom, private terrace/balcony, and dedicated hanging space. ** When booking just one bed, the room will be shared with one other guest but when booking 2 beds together with a friend, the room will be private.

Lisbon International Airport Transfers
We can organise private airport transfers (to be paid locally) that take just 85min to reach The Salty Pelican, the price is €110 one way or €200 return (includes up to 4 persons per car). When you choose to arrive by bus to Peniche, we are located just 5 minutes taxi ride from the main bus station.

The retreat includes a delicious healthy breakfast buffet served each morning with some freshly baked bread, fresh fruits, natural yogurts, vegetables, homemade hummus, jams, muesli & cereals, dried fruits, mixed nuts, chia seeds, cheeses, chorizo, eggs, Nespresso coffee pods, soy milk, herbal detox teas, fruit infused water and a delicious hot section with warm dishes varying throughout the week. You can also enjoy 4-6 group dinner evenings per week, including our famous seafood/vegetarian BBQ nights, our Portuguese tapas dinner or our sourdough pizza and wine nights (not included). Some weeks we also organise live music during these evenings. You will also find an all-day menu serving delicious Baja-Mexican food & drinks, local wines, ciders, sangria, local beers and some healthy locally made kombucha at an additional cost.

Optional activities (not included):
- Berlengas Islands Meditation Hike
Every Monday and Thursday, we organise a boat trip to one of Portugal's best kept secrets - Berlengas Islands Nature Reserve, something that you'll never forget. Located 10 km offshore from Peniche, famous for its caves, snorkeling and nature. We take you on an easy-to- moderate guided hike around the best sights on the island, and finish with a relaxing meditation right on the clifftop.

- Obidos Tour & Ginja Tastings
Looking for an authentic Portuguese experience, then join us when we visit the medieval town UNESCO Heritage town of Obidos. There’s no excuse not to see one of the loveliest towns in Portugal. With its whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streets, castle, fortified walls and local ginja tastings. This activity is an optional each Monday and Thursday.

- Seafood BBQ nights including grilled vegetarian options, Sourdough pizza & wine evenings and Portuguese Tapas & Wine nights
